Focused on teaching kids the fundamental components needed to pursue competitive swimming. We place a strong emphasis on stroke and skills development, aerobic fitness and speed training. Our coaches also work diligently with our swimmers on the mental skills required for competition.
Eligible swimmers have the opportunity to compete at sanctioned meets through our partnership with Brock Niagara Aquatics.
In order to take part in our program we ask that all swimmers are able to complete one length of the pool (25m) without stopping and without grabbing onto lane ropes or side walls, particularly in the deep end. Ideally, swimmers are able to complete multiple lengths. If participants are unable to complete multiple lengths we would require them to use fins to start the program. Fins are a recommended piece of equipment for all of our swimmers, regardless of ability level, for many of the skills/drills that our coaches prescribe.

The minimum program requirement for all swimmers is 2 hours of training time per week. Please self select how many hours per week your child will sign up for based on the recommendations below:
2-4hrs per week
Novice level swimmers who meet the prerequisite and learning to develop competency in all four strokes.
3-5hrs per week
Intro to competitive swimmers who display competency in all four strokes with 1-3 years of experience in our program or an equivalent program.
4-6hrs per week
Competitive swimmers planning to attend meets.
Please note, all registered swimmers will undergo an assessment facilitated by one of our coaches in week 1 of the program to determine which group/lane is best suited for their current ability level. These assignments are not permanent. A swimmer can move lanes depending on their progression. Our goal is to make sure each swimmer is training in the proper environment for their own unique development.
All swimmers should arrive on deck with a proper swimsuit and goggles. Swim caps are optional.
Kickboards and pull buoys are available for use at Kiwanis and Boys & Girls club.
Other optional equipment items include fins, snorkels and paddles.

My daughter loves swimming with Edge Sport! She looks forward to her practices and wanted to add more practice days in for this season. The coaches have been great and any time I email in a question they respond right away. They really care about the athletes and strive to make improvements at every practice. I feel so lucky to have found Edge Sport.
