TRACK & SWIM COACH

Alissa Mete grew up in Welland, Ontario and began training with EDGE Sport at the age of 11. As a former EDGE athlete, the program played a foundational role in her development, and she is excited now to return as a coach to support athletes!

Following high school, Alissa earned an athletic scholarship to compete at the NCAA Division I level at Niagara University, where she was a member of both the Track & Field and Cross Country teams. During her collegiate career, she served as Team Captain in her junior and senior seasons, demonstrating strong leadership both on and off the track. She achieved multiple top-10 finishes at the MAAC Championships and set several Niagara University school records, including in the 3000m steeplechase, the 5000m, and as a member of the women’s Distance Medley Relay. After graduating university, Alissa is now an Intermediate Biology teacher with the Niagara Catholic District School Board. Alissa's background in education, combined with over 14 years of athletic experience allows her to bring in lots of knowledge of and love of sport committing to helping athletes train to their full potential!
